During operational and preventive measures to combat organized crime, conducted by the staff of the Main Department of Internal Affairs (GUVD) of the Tashkent region and the State Security Service (USGB), a crime related to human trafficking was uncovered. This was reported by UzNews citing a statement from the press service of the GUVD of the Tashkent region.
In particular, at the Samarkand International Airport, two female residents of the Tashkent region, aged 22 and 36, were detained while heading to Turkey with the intention of engaging in prostitution.
It was established that their plane tickets and other expenses were paid for by a 41-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who is currently in Turkey.
A criminal case has been initiated against her under Article 135 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Human Trafficking), and an investigation is underway.
